Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others... Romans 12:4-5 NIV.

Our Lord’s Acre Auction will be the following Saturday, October 11 with dinner and a Silent Auction to begin at 4:30 p.m. and the Live Auction at 5:00 p.m. The Committee would like to thank all those who have turned in their dedication cards. One of the committee members will be in contact with you soon. A few items have come in for the auction. If you haven’t already, please prayerfully consider volunteering or donating an item or time for this great event!

Lord’s Acre - Still Time to Donate Items! Okay, let’s get the search on. Look around your house, attic, garage, or the shed out back. You know there is an antique or two just waiting for someone to love. Why not donate it to the auction. Maybe you’re the kind of person who likes “crunch time.” You have the ability to make, create or paint something on short notice. Well, it’s time to get crunching. Bring your antiques, knick knacks and other crafty things to Wesley Fellowship Hall and the Lord’s Acre Committee will put them on display in time for the auction on October 11. Your Hard-Working, Ever-Loving Lord’s Acre Committee

Disaster Response Training! Saturday, October 4, 2008 9:30am-3:00pm at Grace Point Student Center, 13310 W. 21st. St. N., Wichita, Ks. or October 5, 2008 2:30-7:30pm at Mulvane UMC, 107 S. Central, Mulvane, Ks.

Overflow Crowd! Recently we had 55 kids show up for WOW! This is a huge blessing for us because we are doing what God has called us to do and reaching out to others to share with them about God’s Love. I need the members of Goddard UMC to pray that we continue to reach kids in this community and continue to grow this ministry as the Lord sees fit. We are experiencing some slight growing pains and will soon have to breakup our 3 large classes into 5 smaller and more manageable classes. That means we are going to need an additional 2 people willing to teach a short lesson each week if we are going to minister to these children to the best of our ability. God has given us a great opportunity to minister to children in Goddard. Now, we just need a few more people that are willing to see how far God will take us when we put our faith in Him.

Volunteers Still Needed! To help with an after school reading program at the Regency Trailer Park. Starting September 9th. Duties include reading with the students, helping with homework, preparing snacks and spending time with the kids. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Two sessions 3:15-4:40 & 4:30-5:45.

Children’s Ministry 22:Six. As many of you know, we have named our Children’s Ministry 22:Six. 22:Six involves everything that we do in Children’s Ministry, Sunday School, Kid’s Church, Wacked Out Wednesdays, lock-ins, summer camp, VBS ... everything. The reason for this name came from the verse above in Proverbs. It is our mission to prepare kids for their future and give them a strong foundation on which they can use now and in the future. 22:Six will be used on our promotional flyers and items as a way to recognize our ministry within the community. Pastor Jim Jackson

PRAYER REQUESTS

In your Prayers! Do not hesitate to thank the Lord for all that he gives. This is often difficult since we are not always willing to receive some of the "gifts" which make little sense to us. Yet all is a gift from God - Chris Aridas Soundings.

If you have a prayer need, please use our handy email form to send your request or call the church at 316-794-2207.
